Spoiling the Dog

As far as pampered pets are concerned, Japan must be up at the top of the league.

All over the world one occasionally notices people who spoil their canine friends, but here it can be seen everyday and everywhere. It’s the rule, not the exception.

And like this creature spotted today in a Shinjuku department store, some owners really go to extremes.

Cute or appalling? What do you think?

  1. and i thought it was bad in Australia… though as long as they treat the dog like a normal dog, its not that bad, my dogs wear coats on cold nights and they like it 😀

    • True, if they treat the dogs as normal dogs then helping them keep warm is a simple, caring thing.

But once they’re being pushed around in their own “dog pram” as if a baby, one has to wonder. The crown logo on this pram is perhaps a giveaway, suggesting she truly is considered a princess by the owner.
